Tennis Channel plays to the true fans with this spot promoting not just the upcoming WTA and ATP Finals, but the entire 2025 season, which was filled with shocking upsets, the crowning of new champions and the consistency of veterans.
The spot is hosted by Tennis Channel’s team of commentators – former world number-ones Lindsey Davenport and Jim Courier, Steve Weissman, sideline WTA reporter CoCo Vandeweghe and analyst, Prakash Amritrajand. It features much of tennis’ top talent as they head to the season’s respective men’s and women’s finals – the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) in Turin, Italy.
The piece, which features both live action and clips from some of the year’s most exciting matches, was directed by Wavemaker Creative’s Ira Rosensweig with Wavemaker also providing post-production services.
The spot kicks off with Courier, who notes “the 2025 tennis season, not too bad.” Vandeweghe struts by with a big smile, recalling the performance of American Madison Keys, who won this year’s Australian Open. The win guaranteed Keys a spot at the WTA finals for the first time since 2016, setting the record for the longest gap between appearances by any woman.
Weissman then remembers Spanish world number-one Carlos Alcarez’ victory at Roland Garros, giving him a spot in the ATP finals. Also of note: the Spaniard has gone blond! Amritrajand flashes back on Coco Gauff’s “epic” win at the French Open over Belarusian rival and current world number-one Aryna Sabalenka.
And “don’t forget,” Vandeweghe comes back to say, “Ben Shelton’s big summer, Iga Swiatek finally breaking through on grass and Novak Djokovic being Novak Djokovic.”
All of that leads into the final events of the 2025 season, Davenport says: "the WTA and ATP finals, with both tour’s top eight players battling it out for one last time.”
The WTA kicks off Saturday, November 1 and runs for one week. Once that’s over, the ATP begins Sunday, November 9 and will conclude Sunday, November 16.
