As the NBA Finals between the Oklahoma Thunder and the Indianapolis Pacers gets underway, ESPN is partnering with floral artist and sculptor, Mr Flower Fantastic, to create fan-focused experiences in Oklahoma City and Indianapolis ahead of Games 1 and 3 of the series.
Fans will be able to “give their teams their flowers” by placing blossoms on Mr. Flower Fantastic’s art installations. The installations will first be available prior to Game 1 at Thunder Fan Fest at Scissortail Park in Oklahoma City on Thursday, June 5 from 4 - 7 p.m. When the series moves to Indianapolis for Game 3, a Pacers-related installation will be on display at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Wednesday, June 11.
Besides helping to build and decorate the various sculptures, fans also will be able to take photos and share with their friends.
Both the Thunder and the Pacers have only appeared in the NBA Finals one time in their history, with the Pacers last appearing in 2000 and the Thunder in 2012.
The NBA Finals tip off Thursday, June 5 on ABC in a best-of-seven series.
